2015 SPECIAL CALL FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ONLY FOR APPLICANTS WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES FOR MASTERS IN SOCIAL SCIENCES, NATURAL SCIENCES, ENGINEERING, MATHEMATICS, EDUCATION SCIENCES AND SPORTS SCIENCES
The Mwalimu Nyerere African Union Scholarship Scheme was launched in 2007 with the aim of contributing to the production and retention of high calibre African human capital for sustainable development of the continent in critical development areas, while promoting regional integration through intra-African mobility of students. The scholarship is intended to enable young Africans with physical disabilities to study in leading African Universities with a binding agreement that beneficiaries will work in an African country for at least the same duration of scholarship period after graduation.
The commission of African is offering this scholarship to encourage the participation of young African students with physical disabilities at postgraduate level in Masters Programmes and support them to achieve their higher education goals.
PHYSICAL DISABILITIES INCLUDE:
- Visual impairments (partial or total loss of sight, blindness)
- Hearing impairments (Hardness of hearing, deafness)
- Mobility impairments (partial or total physical functional limitations)
METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Interested applicants should complete the Application form in PDF format as well as the Excel Applicants’ Data Sheet, which are available on the African Union Website: www.au.int/nyerere . Applicants should submit their formal application which should include the following:
i. Completed application form
ii. Recent passport-size photograph
iii. Summarized CV with names and contact of three referees
iv. Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts
v. Certified copies of Passport or national Identity card indicating citizenship
vi. Physician’s letter confirming physical disability of the applicant
vii. Copy of admission letter from a recognized African University
viii. Two (2) Reference Letters with contact addresses
ix. An essay of not more than 500 words that explains why the applicant has chosen his/her particular field of study and its importance to Africa’s development.
In addition, two (2) sets of hard copies of the above documents must be sent by post to the address below:

- Tertiary Education Scholarship Trust For Ghana
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS AND RENEWAL OF SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS 2015/2016
The University of Health and Allied Sciences wishes to formally bring to the attention of all students, the call for applications from the Tertiary Education Scholarship Trust for Ghana (TEST) for the 2015/2016 academic year.
TEST For Ghana offers both full and partial scholarships to bright but needy students in Ghana to enable them attain tertiary education. This year’s application deadlines are as follows:
a) Tuesday 30th June 2015, deadline for first time applicant (continuing students) and renewal of existing scholarship awards
b) Monday 31st August 2015, deadline for first year students (freshers).
Students can download the application forms from the website, (www.testforghana.com) and guidance notes on how to complete the application forms can also be found on the website.
TEST for Ghana also wishes to emphasize the need for students who are already beneficiaries of the TEST for Ghana scholarships to fill the renewal forms for processing as scholarships are not automatically renewed for students. Thus any student who does not submit a renewal form before the deadline indicated above would unfortunately forfeit his/her place on the scholarship scheme.
All students should submit a photo copy of the completed application forms to the Student Affairs Office and submit the original application forms to TEST for Ghana using the postal address (TEST For Ghana, C/o Bureau of Ghana Languages, P.O. Box 1851, Accra)
