The First National Health Students’ Association of Ghana (NAHSAG) General Assembly meeting which was supposed to have come off on the 16th of April, 2016 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, actually came off on Saturday, 28th May, 2016 right on UHAS campus. In attendance were all NAHSAG National Executive Committee (NEC) members, Presidents of National Bodies of the various health professions, and the SRC Executives of the various Health Institutions in Ghana, including UHAS. The SRC President, Mr. Kporha Divine, who doubled as a member of the NAHSAG General Assembly, was called on to give a welcome address. In his speech, he commended Hon. Mark Hammond and Hon. Miranda Adedze on assuming their new portfolios as the 2nd Vice-president and General Secretary, respectively, in the National Executive Committee of NAHSAG. In related events, the SRC President addressed the house on the current state of UHAS and some achievements of the current administration of UHAS SRC. The meeting also saw nominations of some members of the house to serve on committees of NAHSAG. On that Agenda, the SRC Secretary, Mr. Gidigasu Israel, who also happened to be a member of the NAHSAG General Assembly, was nominated to serve on one of the said committees. Other major issues debated by the house included: current issues affecting health students of this country, the budget for NAHSAG Week Celebration, reading and approval of the newly drafted NAHSAG Financial Policy, and a proposed NAHSAG Congress.
