Mr Stephen Kwame Senaya has a driven passion for computing which he translates in the provision of ICT solutions to government and corporate bodies in Ghana with significant depth of experience. He is currently a Systems Analyst with the ICT Directorate responsible for the Enterprise Business and Administrative Computing Unit. He superintends the integration, implementation and deployment of IT systems to support the University’s Business and Administrative functions and coordinates activities among key decision makers, systems owners, consultants and end users to define system requirements/operation and performs user acceptance testing on alpha version before system sign-off.
Education
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Education from the University of Education, Ghana and later obtained a Post-graduate Certificate in Cyber Law, and Master of Science in Information Technology, from Asian School of Cyber Law and Mahatma Gandhi University, India respectively. Furthermore, he studied Pre-Master in Business Information System from FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Northwestern Switzerland. Stephen also acquired a number of industry specific professional certificates; amongst these are IT Project Professional (CompTIA Project+), IT Security Professional (CompTIA Security+), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Hewlett Packard (HP) Certified Professional and Computer Emergency Response (CERT).
Professional Experience
Mr. Senaya joined the University of Health and Allied Sciences in 2014 and successfully led the implementation and deployment of an Active Directory System as his first task which is currently being used in the University. He was further assigned to lead the deployment of SAP Business One when it became obvious that the project had run into difficulties and required support of a System Analyst which he did successfully. The SAP Business One is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System made up of several sub-systems such as; General Ledger, Treasury, Budget, Payroll, Procurement, Stores and Inventory, Assets Management among others which is currently used by the Finance, Procurement and Internal Audit Directorate(s) for their functions. Stephen also successfully led the integration of Electronic Payslip into the University payroll system as well as the deployment of Student Billing System for the Finance Directorate. He again led the design of an Enterprise Logical Network Topology showing all campuses, connecting devices, servers and services to enable the University obtain block of public IP from African Network Information Center (AFRINIC) currently being used in planning, implementation and deployment of the University’s enterprise network. Stephen was actively involved in the deployment of the Academic System for the University.
He is presently leading the deployment of Human Resource Information System for Human Resource Directorate as well as Government of Ghana and Ghana Audit Service Payroll Interface projects into the University’s ERP System respectively.
Stephen provides consultancy and mentorship to a number of organizations and individuals to help meet their IT related needs such as Ashesi University, Solidaridad West-Africa and MasterCard Foundation (MASO Business Academy).
Before joining UHAS, Stephen was a Systems Administrator/Coordinator and ICT Instructor at Ho Technical University (formerly Ho Polytechnic) where he successfully managed the University’s Local Area networks, servers and services as well as providing technical supports. In addition, he offered advice on information technology and computing needs to the University. He was a member of the committee that successfully developed the HND ICT and Computer Science Curriculum of the Computer Science Department. He also designed and delivered short soft skills ICT training courses for students and selected staff.
Professional Membership
Stephen is an active member of IT professional bodies, local and international. These include Asian IT Professionals Network, CompTIA IT Professionals Community, Hewlett-Packard IT Professionals Association, Information Technology Association of Ghana, and Internet Society among others.
Research Interest
His research focus is in the specification and reasoning of ICT systems, the formalization of Business Process and Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing and Cyber Security.
