Gregory Asan-Ani Amikiya is the Head of Treasury Unit in the Finance Directorate of the University. A schedule He has held since joining the University in 2012 as an Accountant. Before joining the University Gregory had been working in the Public Service: The Controller & Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) and The Ghana Health Service (GHS) since 1999 as an Accountant, becoming a Principal Accountant of the Public Services and Head of Finance of The Ga-West Municipal Health Directorate at the time of exit.
He was also Head of Finance: Dansoman Polyclinic and the Deputy Hospital Accountant; Regional Hospital Bolgatanga. Gregory has had a stint of Internal Auditing as a member of the Regional Internal Audit Team of the CAGD that audited District and Municipal Assemblies of the Upper East Region.
He has extensive working experience in the management of Public Funds in terms Internally Generated Funds (IGF), Donor Pooled Funds (DPF) and Government of Ghana Funds (GOG). He has over the years prepared Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Returns for Stakeholders and facilitated the Audit of such Accounts by the Auditor General. He has also provided management Accounts for decision making and is very conversant with Treasury Receipt and Payment procedures of the Country.
Gregory is a Chartered Accountant and Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana in good standing with over 5 years Post qualification experience.
He has held a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA-Accounting) since 2010 and a Second Class Upper Degree from the University of Ghana. He has had training on IPSAS by the ICAG, Certificate in Procurement by Management Productivity and Development Training Institute and Accounting Treasury & Financial Reporting at The Institute of Local Government Studies-Accra and also a Certified Tax Accountant.
He is part of the team that prepared the University’s Financial Policies and Procedures Manual yet to be approved by the University Council.
