On Saturday December 1, 2018, His Excellency Mr. Shi Ting Wang, the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China paid a working day visit to the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS). Mr. Shin Ting was welcomed by the Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Seth Owusu Agyei and some Senior Management at the University’s main campus at Sokode-Lokoe near Ho. The Ambassador expressed his delight to visit and familiarize himself with developments of the University of Health and Allied Sciences.
The Chinese Representative, who was accompanied by some senior officials from the Chinese Embassy, also inspected some ongoing and completed projects that were funded by the Chinese government under China Aid.
Professor Seth Owusu Agyei expressed the appreciation of UHAS to the H.E. Shin Ting and his team for his visit. He also seized the opportunity to expressed UHAS appreciation to the Government and the good People of China for the funding most of UHAS infrastructure. He advocated for more collaborations with Chinese universities in the areas of research and exchange programmes for both students and staff.
Dr. William Vidogah, Director of the Works and Physical Development (WPDD) led the team to inspect the various facilities constructed under the phase one project under China Aid as well as the site for the phase two project.
His Excellency Shin Ting, who was impressed with the University’s development, added that he was optimistic of the Chinese Government’s continuous funding of infrastructural development of the University of Health and Allied Sciences.
Other senior members who were present were Deans, Directors and some senior members and staff from the Works and Physical Development Directorate (WPDD).
