The Director and staff of the UHAS Directorate of Public Affairs have gifted the University with a set of media equipment totaling Ghc8,000. The equipment are: one 32-inch smart television, a professional camera flash light, a heavy-duty tripod with case, and a 70W video LED light with stand.

Mrs. Maria B. Gwira, presenting the items to senior management, said the donation is to facilitate the work of the Directorate and reduce the expense incurred during major university events. “It is my hope that this will curtail the costs associated with continually having to rent these equipment and accessories for each event.”

Vice Chancellor Professor Lydia Aziato applauded Mrs. Gwira for her exceptional leadership in helping to equip her Directorate and leaving a good legacy “for generations to come.”

She noted that the young University is already cash-strapped in training its professional students and, therefore, appreciates any support it can get to allow it to grow and better train its students. She also called on other directorates, schools and institutes to emulate this gesture to help run their units smoothly.

The Registrar, Ms. Yaa Amankwaa-Opuni, called the gesture “noble” and prayed that Mrs. Gwira, who will complete her tenure at UHAS this year, is enabled to continue supporting the University even after the end of her term.
