Enterprise Computing Limited (ECL), an IT company, last week donated items worth Ghc 59,000 to the School of Medicine, UHAS. The items, comprising a twelve-seater conference table, office chairs, cabinets, comb binding machines and assorted stationery, are to support the new research laboratory of the School.
Ms. Esi Kudzo, Chief Operating Officer at ECL, who led the ECL team to present the items, said the relationship and partnership between the University and her company led to the generous donation, and looked forward to greater collaboration between the two. She added that ECL hopes to collaborate with the University in the area of artificial intelligence in the near future just as they are doing with Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Vice Chancellor Professor Lydia Aziato welcomed the delegation and expressed gratitude for their generosity, and appealed for research funding for projects. She also charged the other UHAS Schools to emulate Professor Frank Edwin, Dean of SOM, who facilitated the donation, and reminded him about the importance of reporting annually on the progress of the facility.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Harry Targbor, commended ECL and said the items would go further to augment the core business of the University, namely, research, teaching and community service.
