The Volta Regional Fire Command has donated six (6) fire detectors and six (6) fire extinguishers to the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho (UHAS). The donation was done by the Volta Regional Fire Commander, DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong.

According to the Volta Regional Fire Commander, Ghana Fire Service has a duty of making UHAS a fire-free zone and as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme, they have decided to make this ‘widow’s mite’ donation. She assures UHAS of the readiness of Ghana Fire Service to continue helping with the provision of fire safety education to staff and students. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Owusu Gyapong was very grateful for the warm gesture. He, among other things, made a passionate appeal to Ghana Fire Service to endeavour to build a fire station on UHAS campus sooner than later. Present at the short ceremony were the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Professor Seth Owusu-Agyei), the Registrar (Dr. Cynthia Sena Kpeglo), the Director of Works and Physical Development (Dr. William Vidogah) and a few members of the University community.
