Global Network for Peace and Sustainable Progress, a South Korean-based NGO on June 3, donated 10,000 boxes containing a total of 500,000 pieces of facemasks to University of Health and Allied Sciences.

UHAS was introduced to the NGO by UHAS partner university, Yonsei University. The two universities are partners in a project that seeks to improve curriculum and vocational training. The donation was facilitated by GKNF, another South Korean NGO.

Project Management Officer for the UHAS-Yonsei project, Mr. Richard Aboagye, who handed over the consignment on behalf of the Korean partners, underscored the point that the donation was to support UHAS in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Receiving the items, UHAS Registrar Dr. Cynthia S. Kpeglo, stated that Yonsei University has been a good partner over the years and that the relationship between the two universities has been fruitful so far.

Dr. Robert Kaba Alhassan, Dean of International Programmes, commended Management of UHAS for the proactive role the university played by committing resources to clearing the goods at the port and transporting the consignment to campus.
