As part of activities to mark its celebration of Ladies’ Week, the Women’s Commission under the UHAS Student Representative Council held a maiden Ladies’ Summit, February 8, with the theme “Women: The Architects of society.” Dr. Cynthia Sena Kpeglo, UHAS Registrar, was the Guest of honour and Chairperson. She admonished female students to stay focused on their vision.
Other invited guests were Lady Phebe, Executive Director of Advocacy for African Girls (AFAG); Madam Mary Anyormi, Regional Technical Coordinator of Ghana Aids Commission; Counsellor Frank Adofoli, and some students from second cycle schools in the Ho Municipality.
The objective of the Ladies’ Summit was to empower young ladies within and outside the university to realize their importance in societal development by instilling in them transformative leadership skills, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, sexual awareness, personal branding and other pertinent knowledge.
