UHAS Vice Chancellor Prof. Lydia Aziato stepped into her new role on 1 August 2022, after a brief handing-over meeting held at the UHAS main campus. Prof. Aziato’s investiture will take place on August 11, making her the third Vice Chancellor of UHAS. Assuming duty alongside the VC is Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni, who will be inducted into office as the third Registrar of UHAS, also on August 11. Their appointments are effective 1 August 2022.
Prof. Aziato said she and her team are ready to lead the university into a new dawn, building on previous gains:
We will continue where you left off to grow the University with the help of God.
Outgoing VC Prof. John Gyapong outlined foundations that have been laid for the various directorates, schools and institutes of UHAS with a call to the new administration to manage the university’s scarce resources. He also assured the incoming VC’s administration of support from himself and the outgoing Registrar, Dr. Cynthia Kpeglo, to propel the growth of UHAS.
