On 15th November 2019, the University of Health and Allied Sciences Students’ Representative Council Parliament House passed a resolution by simple majority to revive the UHAS Medical Army Cadets at UHAS Main, North (Trafalgar) Campus, Ho.

Established in 2015, the Medical Army Cadets have been inactive for three years, and the passing of this resolution streamlines the club’s operation under the SRC. Mr. Francis Aklika — a Level 400 School of Allied Health Sciences student majoring in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences — was appointed Commanding Officer.

The Medical Army Cadets, comprising 55 members including 27 young women and 28 young men, seeks to equip members with non-combative military skills and medical knowledge to serve in their local communities in times of disaster. Their assistance during these types of events would be aimed at fostering goodwill with the surrounding community by providing help in times of need.
