UHAS School of Pharmacy Assistant Lecturer Regina Esinam Abotsi, who is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree at the University of Cape Town, was among 20 women researchers who received the 2019 Young Talent Award for Sub-Saharan Africa from the L’Oreal Foundation at a November 21 ceremony in Dakar, as part of the 10th edition of L’Oreal’s regional program For Women in Science. She was recognized for her work on “Determining antibiotic resistance in potentially pathogenic bacteria present in the respiratory tract of hiv-infected children”.
Regina Esinam Abotsi is an assistant lecturer at the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology at the School of Pharmacy, University of Health and Allied Sciences.
