University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) has oriented and formally welcomed into its fold new national service personnel for 2020/2021 academic year. About 80 personnel attended an orientation workshop organised by the Directorate of Human Resources on 2 November 2020 at the main campus.

Speaking on the topic “Roles and Responsibilities of National Service Personnel”, Mr. David W. Adzovie, Director of Human Resources, highlighted the need for a good work ethic, professionalism and a positive attitude towards work in order to enhance productivity. He advised the personnel to desist from entertaining the notion that national service has nothing to do with their professional growth and to rather use the opportunity to build their respective careers. “This is a time for you to learn, unlearn, and relearn. Unfortunately, some may come to the realization a bit late,” he said.  

Mr. Cedric B. Dorkenoo, Senior Assistant Registrar at the School of Pharmacy, noted that the University as a complex environment offering personnel the opportunity to work in a diverse community. He told them to therefore remain focused and diligent in their work.

Mr. Solomon Akrong, Senior Assistant Registrar in charge of General Administration took the personnel through correspondence handling and the University’s electronic and manual filing system.
