On 7th November, 2019, three students of the University of Health and Allied Sciences — Miss Beatrice Gyampo, Mr. Nyarko Emmanuel Amo and Mr. Prosper Junior Anatsui — emerged as winners at the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge. 

The Empowered to Achieve the Impossible Team (ETATI) from UHAS, led by Mr. Prosper Junior Anatsui, delivered a presentation that focused on providing self-employment opportunities for cured lepers in Ho Municipality who, for several years, have depended on donations from organisations and other philanthropists. The ETATI team, together with four other contesting teams, will be given seed funding to start their project, and mentoring for a period of 16 weeks. After this, the most promising solution will be presented to a global judging process outside Ghana in June 2020 for the ultimate contest prize of $20,000 in project funding.

The Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge is a juvenile contest organised by UNICEF in 46 countries worldwide to get youth within the ages of 14 to 23 years to design working solutions for the developing world. The Challenge was supported by the Ministry of Education, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), PLAN Ghana, and Ecobank.
