PROFILE OF RICHARD K. ADJEI
Mr. Adjei holds an MA International Affairs, University of Ghana, an MSc Education, University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and a Graduate Certificate in Quality Assurance, University of Melbourne, Australia.
Mr. Adjei worked with the National Accreditation Board, Ghana, rising to the position of Deputy Executive Secretary and Head of the Quality Assurance Department. He retired in October 2016 with wide experience in accreditation and quality assurance management in higher education.
He has made presentations on quality assurance in higher education at several international conferences/workshops, including: Regional Conference on Higher Education in Africa, Bamako (2011), International Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Africa (ICQAHEA), Abidjan (2012), Training of Quality Assurance Officers in Higher Education in Zimbabwe (2013), and Intermediary Meeting of the International Deans’ Course Africa Part II, Accra (2013).
He was engaged by the African Union Commission on the Validation Team to the Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia) and Botho University (Botswana) under the African Quality Rating Mechanism project (2014). He was an expert on the “Training on Quality Assurance in West Africa (TrainIQA)”, a project involving DAAD, National Universities Commission (Nigeria), National Accreditation Board (Ghana), and the National Council for Tertiary Education (Ghana) to train internal quality assurance officers of universities in Anglophone West Africa (2014-2016). He also served on a Programme Accreditation Panel to the University of Namibia on appointment by the National Council for Higher Education, Namibia (Oct. 2016).
