UHAS 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR ADMISSIONS OPEN

General Entry Requirement for Regular Applicants (Undergraduate)

A.        WASSCE/SSSCE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL PROGRAMMES

Credit passes (A1-C6 / A-D) in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and Social Studies (input all the four core subjects when applying) in addition to three elective subjects applicable to the programme of choice.

(Applicants should note that they are expected to have at least C6/D in Social Studies, even though it is NOT included in the calculation of aggregates.) 

B.        A-Level Applicants

Candidates must have five (5) subjects, including English and Mathematics at the G.C.EOrdinary Level, in addition to any three (3) relevant subjects applicable to the programme of choice at the G.C.E. Advance Level. 

C.        International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

Applicants must have at least a grade 4/C in all relevant subjects. 

D.        American High School Grade 

Applicants must have Grades 12 & 13 examinations results.

E.        International Baccalaureate

            Applicants must have at least a grade 5 in all relevant subjects. 

NB: Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). 

 

 

 

F. N. BINKA SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH (FNBSPH) – HOHOE CAMPUS 

Programmes: 

 

Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) with the following options:

  • Disease Control 

  • Health Information

  • Health Promotion 

  • Nutrition

Entry Requirements 

  1. For Science Students: All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to any three (3) of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Elective Mathematics

  2. For Non-Science students:All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above plus three (3) elective subjects in General Arts, Agricultural Science and Home Economics.

 

 

SCHOOL OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES (SAHS) – HO CAMPUS

Programmes 

  • Bachelor of Dietetics 

  • Bachelor of Diagnostic Imaging (Radiography)

  • Bachelor of Orthotics and Prosthetics 

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy 

  • Bachelor of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences 

  • Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science (6 years)

Entry Requirements: 

  1. Bachelor of Dietetics 

  2. For Science Students: 

    All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to three (3) credits in any of the following electives: Chemistry and Biology plus Physics or Elective Mathematics.

  3. For Home Economics applicants:

    All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above plus the following electives: Biology or Chemistry plus any two (2) of the following:Food & Nutrition, Management in Living General Knowledge in Art

 

  1. Bachelor of Diagnostic Imaging (Radiography); Orthotics and Prosthetics; Physiotherapy

  2. Bachelor of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences 

All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to three (3) credits in any of the following electives: Physics and Biology plus Chemistry or Elective Mathematics.

  1. For Science Students:

    All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to three (3) credits in any of the following electives: Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Elective Mathematics. 

  2. For Non-Science Students:

    All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above with a minimum of B2 in Integrated Science plus any three (3) elective subjects in General Arts, Agricultural Science and Home Economics.

 

  1. Doctor of Medical Laboratory Sciences 

All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to three (3) credits in any of the following electives: 

 

Biology and Chemistry plus Physics or Elective Mathematics. 

 

NB: All shortlisted applicants MAY be required to pass a selection interview

 

 

 

SCHOOL OF BASIC AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES (SBBS) – HO CAMPUS

Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB)

Entry Requirements:

  1. For Science Students: 

All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’above in addition to the following electives subjects:

Chemistry and Biology plus Physics or Elective Mathematics.

  1. For Agricultural Science Students: 

All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’above in addition to the following electives subjects:

Animal Husbandry or General Agric, Physics or Elective Mathematics plus Chemistry.

 

 

SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY (SOD) – HO CAMPUS

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (6 years)

Entry Requirements:

i     All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’above in addition to any three (3) of the following electives:   

      Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Elective Mathematics.

NB: All shortlisted applicants SHALL be required to pass an entrance aptitude examination comprising of English Language, Mathematics and General Sciences and a selection interview to be conducted by a panel on General Knowledge and Current Affairs.

 

 

SCHOOL OF MEDICINE (SOM) – HO CAMPUS

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) (6 years)

  • Combined Bachelor and Master of Science in Psychology (6 years)

Entry Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)

  2. Combined Bachelor and Master of Science in Psychology 

All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to any three (3) of the following electives: Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Elective Mathematics.

 

 

NB: All shortlisted applicants, shall be required to pass entrance examinations and a selection interview. 

 

 

  1. Neuropsychology Option: All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to any three (3) of the following electives: Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Elective Mathematics.

 

  1. Clinical and Counselling Options: All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to credit passes in any three (3) elective subjects.

 

  1. Combined Bachelor and Master of Science in Psychology (Top-Up)

 

  • An applicant who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Second-Class Lower Division or equivalent) may be considered for admission into Level 500.

     

  • An applicant who holds a Bachelor’s degree in other health or related fields (Second-Class Lower Division or equivalent) may be considered for admission into Level 300.

 

  • Applicant who hold a Diploma in Psychology or other health-related programmes may be admitted to Level 200.

 

SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY (SONAM) – HO CAMPUS

  • Bachelor of Midwifery 

  • Bachelor of Nursing 

  • Bachelor of Public Health Nursing

  • Bachelor of Health Services Administration 

 

  1. Bachelor of Nursing; Midwifery and Public Health Nursing

Entry Requirements:

  1. All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to any three (3) electives in the following programmes: General Science, General Arts, General Agric and Home Economics. 

  2. Detailed subject areas include; Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Elective Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Government, History, Christian Religious Studies or Islamic Religious Studies, Literature-in-English, French, Ghanaian Language, General Agriculture, Horticulture, Food and Nutrition, General Knowledge in Arts, Management in Living, and Information Communication and Technology.

NB: All shortlisted applicants, shall be required to pass entrance examinations and a selection interview

 

  1. Bachelor of Health Services Administration 

All Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to any three (3) electives in the following programmes: General Sciences, Business, General Arts, Home Economics, Visual Arts and General Agricultural Science.

 

 

SCHOOL OF PHARMACY (SOP) – HO CAMPUS

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) - 6 years

Entry Requirements:

  1. All the Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to (3) credits in the following Elective Subjects: 

  2. Mature applicants must have obtained HND in Dispensary Technology or its equivalent in related subject area and must be twenty-five (25) years and above at the time of application. 

Chemistry and Biology plus Physics or Elective Mathematics.

 

NB: All shortlisted applicants, shall be required to pass entrance examinations and a selection interview. 

 

 

SCHOOL OF SPORTS AND EXERCISE MEDICINE (SSEM) – HO CAMPUS

Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Medical Sciences 

Entry Requirements:

All the Core Subjects listed in ‘A’ above in addition to 3 creditd in of the following Elective Subjects: Biology and Physics plus Chemistry or Elective Mathematics.
