Postgraduate Entry Requirements & Guidelines

General Entry Requirement (Postgraduate) 

 

  • Applicants shall be required to pass an entrance interview

  • Applicants shall provide details of two referees preferably, academic and professional 

  • Applicants may be required to take an entrance examination. 

  • Applicants would be required to provide Recommendation Letters from Referees

 

Softcopies of the following documents would be required to complete the application:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV).

  • Transcript of academic records.

  • Research proposal (Abstract) of not more than 500 words for Masters applicants 

  • Research proposal (Abstract) of not more than 700 words for PhD applicants

F. N. BINKA SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH (FNBSPH) – HOHOE CAMPUS

 

i) Doctor of Philosophy (Public Health) 

     

Duration: 3 years Full-Time

 

 

Entry Requirements

  • A  Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), Master of Public Health, other master’s degrees in medical/health sciences, equivalent degrees in a relevant field from an accredited institution, or membership degrees of professional medical colleges.

  • Pass an onsite test that includes writing a 700-word essay on a topic of public health interest.

ii.      Master of Philosophy (Applied Epidemiology)

            Duration: 2 years Full-Time

 

  • The MPhil in Applied Epidemiology is a competency-based training programme and field placement activities are mandatory.

 

 

 

Entry Requirements

  • A first degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or equivalent in a relevant health/health-related field. Candidates with CGPA of less than 2.5 may be considered if they possess a relevant postgraduate certificate.

  • Have a background or demonstrated interest in Public Health.

  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience (advantage).

 

iii)     Master of Public Health (MPH) 

         Duration: 1 year

 

  • Regular Option (Monday – Thursday) OR

  • Weekend Option (Friday – Sunday)

 

Specialisations:

  • General 

  • Epidemiology and Disease Control

  • Health Promotion

  • Family and Reproductive Health

  • Nutrition in Maternal and Child Health (a new track under Nkabom collaboration)

  • Non-Communicable Diseases (a new track under CAPSTONE project)

Additional Requirement for applicants to be considered for the Nkabom and CAPSTONE Scholarship:

  • The programme is suited for applicants with a demonstrated academic background, professional experience and interest in nutrition and maternal and child health.

  • Females, persons living with disabilities and those from marginalized backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply.

  • Age limit for consideration for scholarship is 35 years and below.
