
Prof. Mark Appiah is a distinguished Ghanaian academic and administrator with over three decades of experience in forestry, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and higher education leadership. He holds a PhD in Agriculture and Forestry from the University of Helsinki, an MSc in Agronomy from the University of Copenhagen, and a Diploma in Agricultural Education, University College of Education, Mampong Campus, Ghana.
He currently serves as President of the CSIR College of Science and Technology and as a Corporate Director at CSIR, having previously held roles such as Deputy Director of the Forestry Research Institute and acted as Director in the absence of the substantive Director and Associate Professor at the University of Eastern Finland. Prof. Appiah has led numerous institutional initiatives, chaired academic and governance boards, and taught courses in ecosystem restoration, project management, and climate change.
A prolific scholar with over 60 publications, he has supervised numerous postgraduate theses and contributed extensively to national and international conferences. His expertise and leadership continue to advance research, innovation, and sustainable development in Ghana and beyond.
