It is announced for the information of prospective applicants and the general public that application has been opened for admissions into 2026 Short Courses in Language Proficiency offered by the Department of General and Liberal Studies of the University.

Course Levels
Each language is offered at three levels:
Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced
Applicants will be placed at the appropriate level after an evaluation test.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to:
Ghanaian and International Applicants seeking language proficiency.
International students who need English language skills to pursue degree programmes at UHAS.
Workers in public and private institutions seeking refresher courses in English, French or Ewe.
Individuals with little or no formal education who wish to improve their language skills.
Mode of Delivery
Combination of in-person (face-to-face) lectures with online sessions to offer flexibility for students and working professionals.
Accommodation will be available for students who choose the face-to-face mode.
Duration: 8 weeks for each level
