The Alumni Association of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) donated 6 brand-new Laser MFP 135w printers worth GH¢21,000.00 to the University. These printers are to be distributed to the various schools within the University to enhance both academic and administrative operations.
The Vice Chancellor of UHAS, Professor Lydia Aziato, on behalf of Management applauded the Alumni Association for the worthy gesture. Professor Aziato also encouraged the Alumni executives to engage the alumni worldwide to continue to be professional and also maintain high standards in their respective lines of duty.
The Registrar of the University, Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni acknowledged the effort and willingness of the Alumni to support the development agenda of the University. She gave the assurance that the printers will be put to good use to enhance the running of the University.
On behalf of the students, the Dean of Students, Professor Judith Akorkor Torgbor, extended her appreciation to the Alumni for the donation which she noted will go a long way to improve the day-to-day administration of the University.
In the same vein, the Dean of Fred N. Binka School of Public Health, Professor Frank Baiden, on behalf of the Schools expressed his deepest appreciation to the Alumni. He ended his speech by saying “it is always gratifying to witness past students give back to the University.”
The Alumni President of UHAS, Mr. Gabriel Agbanyo, under whose leadership the gesture was made, said the goal of the association is to contribute meaningfully to the University’s progress and also strengthen the connection between the Alumni community and the institution. He assured the University of many more of such actions.
UHAS is a nascent but very fast growingfast-growing University in Ghana and it is the only state university solely dedicated to the healthcare profession.
