The Minister of Education, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, has officially inaugurated the fourth substantive council of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) at a brief but highly significant ceremony in Accra on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) celebrated a momentous achievement on Saturday, May 31, 2025, as it held the 2nd Session of its 9th Congregation at the Cedi Auditorium. The ceremony witnessed the graduation of 958 postgraduate and sandwich undergraduate students from four schools of the University.

PROF. KODZO GAVUA

Prof. Kodzo Gavua, Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, is a distinguished archaeologist, heritage scholar, and academic administrator with a career spanning over three decades in higher education, research, and national cultural policy leadership. He holds a PhD in Archaeology and an MA in African Archaeology from the University of Calgary, Canada, as well as an MA in International Affairs and a BA (Hons) in Archaeology and Philosophy from the University of Ghana.

The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) held its 4th joint White Coat Ceremony for the School of Medicine and School of Pharmacy on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the Cedi Auditorium on the University's main campus, Sokode-Lokoe, Ho. In all, 258 students were transitioned into their clinical years.

The White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage; a formal academic ceremony that inducts students from the pre-clinical phase to the clinical phase of their programmes.

The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) on Monday July 29, 2024 conferred on the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo an honorary Doctorate Degree at a Special Congregation Ceremony.
The Pharmaceutical Students Federation of Ghana held its annual 5-day general conference under the theme “Every Drug Matters: Ensuring Safe Medication Use for All” at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) from Wednesday, October 9 to Sunday, October 13, 2024.
The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) matriculated 753 Sandwich undergraduate students for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The exercise took place on August 31, 2024, in two (2) concurrent ceremonies at both Ho and Hohoe campuses. The new students comprised 53 for the School of Allied Health Sciences, 513 for the School of Nursing and Midwifery and 187 for the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health.
The Director General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), Prof. Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, made a recent visit to the University of Health and Allied Sciences as part of his nationwide tour of tertiary institutions. During his visit, he engaged in extensive discussions with UHAS Management and Union leaders to address concerns and receive inputs aimed at improving the operations of tertiary education.
As part of the vision of UHAS as a pre-eminent health institution dedicated to practical orientation and recognizing the value of real-world experience, postgraduate students of Fred N. Binka School of Public Health (FNBSPH) embarked on an educational visit at the Ghana Health Service (GHS) Headquarters in Accra from September 1, 2024, to September 3, 2024. The purpose of the 3-day educational tour was to integrate hands-on field trips into the educational curriculum to prepare students for impactful careers in their various professions.
As part of the mission of ECL to provide support globally as a preferred brand in delivering world-class simplified and reliable IT solutions, ECL donated a number of equipment and accessories to the Research Laboratory of UHAS School of Medicine (SOM). The Chief Technology Officer of ECL, Mrs. Sybil Amoah Osafo who led the team to present the items indicated that “the majority of what we do at ECL is centred on research and innovation and that is the main reason why we took a keen interest in this initiative."
