The Volta and Oti Regional Team of the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA) has paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) to strengthen institutional collaboration in healthcare regulation, research, and capacity development.
The engagement focused on key areas of mutual interest, including the establishment of a UHAS Medical Centre, opportunities for joint research initiatives, capacity-building workshops on healthcare standards, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), regulatory compliance, and potential avenues for resource sharing between the two institutions.
Management of UHAS affirmed the University’s commitment to strengthening partnerships that enhance quality healthcare delivery, training, and regulatory compliance across the healthcare sector.
Present at the meeting on behalf of UHAS were the Vice Chancellor, Professor Lydia Aziato; the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Frank Edwin; and the Registrar, Ms Yaa Amankwaa Opuni.
The HeFRA delegation was led by the Volta and Oti Regional Head, Mr. Divine Kporha. Other members of the team were Mr. Michael Young (Head of Operations), Mr. Thompson Dotse (Head of IT), Mr. Gabriel Gbemu (Head of Finance), Mr. Davis Sunu (Administrator), and Ms. Berlinda Ahegbebu (Head of Public Relations).
The visit forms part of HeFRA’s broader stakeholder engagement strategic engagement aimed at strengthening regulatory compliance, improving healthcare standards, and fostering partnerships with academic and health institutions within the Volta and Oti Regions.
