PROF. PETER ADATARA

Professor Peter Adatara is Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) and serves on the University’s Governing Council as the Elected Convocation Representative (Professorial Rank). A seasoned nurse, academic, and researcher with over two decades of experience, he has held key leadership positions, including Head of the Department of Nursing. He holds a PhD in Nursing Science from Nelson Mandela University, South Africa, as well as postgraduate degrees in Health Services Management and Gerontology from the University of Ghana and the University of Southampton, UK. 

Prof. Adatara’s research interests span maternal and child health, gerontology, healthcare access, and workforce development, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications. He chairs the Institutional Affiliation and Quality Assurance Committees of his School and serves on multiple university boards. A Fellow of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives, he is dedicated to advancing nursing education, health policy, and research in Ghana.
